Thatch Home in Charlevoix, Michigan, Is Listed for $4.5 Million

Michael Seitz spent three years renovating a 1918 stone cottage in Charlevoix, Michigan. Referred to as “The Thatch Home” attributable to its roof, he is now itemizing the house for $4.5 million.

The home was initially constructed by well-known native builder Earl Younger, who was identified for his whimsical, fairytale-like stone cottages which were known as “mushroom homes,” and even “Hobbit houses.”

Positioned on 304 Park Avenue, the Thatch Home was the place Younger lived up till the late Nineteen Forties along with his spouse and their kids, per the Charlevoix Earl Younger District report.

“This occurred to be the home that Younger constructed for himself when he was 20,” Seitz, a mechanical engineer, advised Insider.
